Is it time for Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko? Lesnar impressed a lot of people in his 3rd UFC debut, when he overcame the previous UFC Heavyweight, Randy Couture, for the belt in Round 2 of UFC 91. Lesnar proved last night that he’s distancing himself from his wrestling habits, and gearing fully into MMA mode. His training paid off for this bout with Couture, and combined with his strength, speed, and size, he should be fairly hard to stop in future battles.

Couture fans were saddened by the reality of last night’s victory, but there are still some issues remaining. Lesnar still needs to unify his title against the winner of Nogueira vs. Mir which is taking place in December of ‘08. If he pulls that off, MMA City would really like to see a potential Lesnar vs Fedor bout!

Lesnar vs Fedor would be awesome. Like you said, its 2 or 3 fights away though, if at all. Fedor might be on his way out, but a big payday will make anyone feel young again. If Lesnar keeps improving as he has been, he’ll be making movies fighting Godzilla and King Kong as everyone else will be too scared to get in the octagon.

Can I raise both hands?

@ Jared - Yes you can :-D!

Brock will get his monkey ass whipped by fedor and thats the bottom line cause ya mama said so!

Dude, Fedor would MURDER Lesnar

I’m reasonably new to the mma game, but I gotta say that, at the moment, fedor would tear brock to pieces!!
Would be a great fight though

Fedor is past his prime, he hasn’t had a decent fight for ages. I would love to see them fight though. Lesnar needs his chin tested. It won’t ever happen though. Dana White will never co-host an event.

Fedor will rip this guy a new ass, Brock is very big and slow, Fedor is fast and hard as nails and I think he is a tougher wiser fighter. He will not be intimidated by his size and I think it will be a very one sided fight.

Fedor will outstrike and out grapple him.

Brock should wait till Fedor retires or he is gonna look silly.

Brock Lesnar is nowhere near slow. He ran a 4.75 40 at 280 pounds. Lesnar is very young and may not be ready as it is now but a win over Mir or Nogueira would most definitely put him up there. Every fight i have seen from fedor you gets dropped on his back and cant fight against a bigger opponent. (except silvia) Lesnar would not only control the fight but he would win against fedor.
Bottomline is brock is too fast and too big. Nobody can beat brock lesnar. Only brock lesnar can beat brock lesnar ala the Frank mir fight when he got cocky. Im not saying it wouldnt be a good fight but lesnar would win hands down. Put money on it.

I’m have been a fan of fedor since 2002. I even saw the dude and his brother alex at different times. Mad chill guy, untill he gets into the ring. Fedor should win against Brock, hes fought many fighters that are bigger than him in the past, fujita, hong man, zulu, tim, roid brothers colman and randleman. You might say he’s lost before, but that was to a mere cut stoppage, not even a knockout. Fedor’s got nearly 30 wins under his belt, not including his russian ones. How is brock different from any of them? Brock should experaince a fate drastically similar to sylvia’s

[…] all the recent discussion after UFC 91 of Lesnar vs Fedor, I thought I would share one of my favorite Fedor Emelianenko Highlights video. If you have 10 […]

1) fedor has shown no problem against bigger fighters, zulu, hong man choi, tim sylvia, semmy schilt (all bigger than brock)
2) fujita, randelman and coleman are not near as big, fast or strong as brock lesnar.
brock lesnar is probably the strongest fighter in mma, he is a dangerous striker, has great takedowns, has dangerous ground and pound.. still Fedor has better stricking, is faster, and has better submision than brock has wresling. fedor would win by tko in 30 seconds, as he finished tim sylvia.

Everyone here except “Cantbeatlesnar” has got it right on the money. Can Brock step into the ring with Fedor? Sure - all you people in Vegas, go and hedge your bets in a surefire nobrainer. Can he last past 5 minutes? Maybe, if he gets lucky and sits on Fedor with zero activity and rides the round out. Can he defeat Fedor? Are you stupid?
Emelianenko’s flawless sambo nullifies all of Brock’s advantages. Fedor is quicker, kinetically stronger, better composed, can go much longer without breaking a sweat, far more versed in technique regardless of whether they’re standing or on the ground and probably has a stronger chin than Brock does. Not to take anything away from Lesnar though - he’s an extremely strong fighter who’s got a lot of potential and with years of training he’ll develop into one of the great heavy weights. But let’s face it, Fedor is in a league of his own and will be regarded as the best MMA fighter in our generation, until he either retires, or reaches his demise at the hands of a younger, hungrier phenom of a fighter… and we should be so lucky to witness such an event if it were to ever happen.

fedor will knock brock out in the first round. i’ve been watching the ufc since the 2nd one came out. if they wait and fight in a cuple of years and brock gets a lot more experience behind him he might have a better chance. but right now fedor i can;t see fedor getting beat.
