MMA is evolving so fast these days. In the beginning we saw companies such as TapouT and other clothing and gear businesses dedicated to fight sports sponsor MMA fighters. Recently, Microsoft got involved in the sponsoring of MMA fighters. Now Canada’s top athlete, Georges St-Pierre lands a commercial with Gatorade.
What does this mean for the sport? The MMA industry is growing. The health meter shows MMA in the far green. Positive signs of upward movement are being forecasted. Large conglomerates are jumping aboard the MMA train. GSP shooting a commercial for Gatorade is just the beginning of what’s to be one of the largest industries of the century.
Here’s what GSP had to say about his involvement with Gatorade –
“I’m proud to be the first MMA athlete to be sponsored by Gatorade, and also proud for the sport - it shows how far it has come.”
“I’m extremely happy and excited to be part of the Gatorade family.”
Georges St-Pierre also stated that he starts shooting the movie “Death Warrior” today, and that GSP fans can watch him filming this movie via the internet. We’ll have more details up shortly.
