UFC officially redeemed themselves at UFC 107 in Memphis with a great night of fights, including a dominant performance by the best 155 lb fighter in the world, BJ Penn, over a quality contender Diego Sanchez.  Penn nearly ended the fight in the first round with a flurry knocking Sanchez to the ground, but Sanchez was able to survive, until the half way through the fifth round, when Penn connected with a right kick to Sanchez’s forehead opening a gash the size of the grand canyon that ultimately ended the fight.

In the co-main  event, Frank Mir made quick work of Frenchman Cheik Kongo knocking him down with a hard left followed by vicious guillotine choke that turned off the lights on the disrepecting Kongo.
